[EN] 'Work for a (better) living, never the other way around'
The other day I was asked 'how would it be like an ideal day for you' and even I was surprised that, amongst other things, my ideal day included work. But only under 2 conditions: just a couple of hours and on something that I really like or has a social benefit.

I strongly disagree with the idea of work that we have nowadays, which is: working 40 hours per week, usually in the same company and hoping to being promoted with time. And if you don't have a job, you starve. Or you get evicted.

Firstly, I loathe the idea of working 8 hours for 5 days per week. You just don't have time to live. You have to do sport everyday, sleep enough, socialize and do other daily chores. And don't get me started with doing hobbies, things we love, like painting, watching movies or playing the piano. With a 40 hours work week, be thankful that you still have energy on the weekend to do anything else besides resting for the next week.

On the other side, it's illogical that there are people working so much and so many people without a job, when it would be easy to limit the work week to 20 hours and twice the people would get employed. I'm not talking about german mini-jobs, because the salary would also be cut, I'm saying that we are too many people in this planet, and with the existing mindset there are no jobs for everyone, and won't ever be due to automatization. But with a shorter work week and full employment, salaries would necessarily level [to actual levels] or the cost of living would decrease (if there's any economist reading, you can intervene).

About 'working the whole life in the same company and hoping to get promoted with time', a lot of people would agree, but my goal is to work and get to know as much places and companies as I can, touch a little bit of everything and be constantly doing and learning new things.

Society must tend to shorter work weeks and more time to do what we really like, my imaginary ideal is a society where there's no need to work in order to live, because the basic needs would be covered; but do work, if you want to, in order to have better standards.
